StarCraft II Launch Detected

It’s been 3 years or so since I’ve first blogged about upcoming StarCraft II, and Blizzard during this month had announced: On July 27th 2010, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty lands at retail locations throughout the world. Best, you can pre-order your copy today!

StarCraft II is split into three installments: the base game with the subtitle Wings of Liberty, and two expansion packs, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void.

Set in the 26th century in a distant part of the Milky Way galaxy, the game is built around three species: the Terrans, human exiles from Earth; the Zerg, a race of insectoid genetic assimilators; and the Protoss, a species with vast psionic power. Wings of Liberty will focus on the Terrans specifically, while the expansions Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void will focus on the Zerg and Protoss, respectively.

The game is expected to be set four years after the events of StarCraft: Brood War, and follow the exploits of Jim Raynor as he leads an insurgent group against the autocratic Terran Dominion. The game will include old characters from the original game, as well as introduce new characters and locations to the franchise

Wings of Liberty will be available in a Standard (USD 60) and Collector’s edition (USD 100). The collector’s edition will come with an artbook, 2GB flash drive modeled after Jim Raynor’s dog tag with the original StarCraft and Brood War expansion preloaded, behind-the-scenes DVD, soundtrack, comic book, and redeemable codes for downloadable content including a unique model for the in-game Thor unit and a World of Warcraft pet

StarCraft II will be rolled out in both Windows and Mac version, supporting Single mode and Multiplayer (via Battle.net). I am so eager to give it a try by July end More on story here and Cinematic Trailer can be viewed here.

Honestly, the very best races are all of them. It just suits your type of gameplay. (Nevertheless, combined with micro, forget about selecting a race.) Terrans are excellent for new gamers. Zerg is great for gamers who do not wish to use big amounts of minerals and gas to create tons and a lot of models. The Protoss will be the siegeing faction. With powerful, pricy, troops with sheilds that acts as a second HP bar. Here can be a principal gaming thought of great gameplay. Terrans=Use mixes of troops, i.e. medics with marines, and firebats. Or siege tanks supported by Valks. The Terrans are a mixing faction, use it properly. Zerg=Push out a lot of troops mostly zerglings supported by hydras, or for taking out buildings, ultralisks supported by hydras. The Zerg can be a push-and-kill faction. Protoss=Use zealots supported by either archons or dragoons. Warping in buildings can be a excellent advantage, i.e. the Probes walk away! That’s all I can say.
