After a very long anticipated time, Apple finally announced their new OS – Leopard – will be shipped worldwide on 26th October 2007. Leopard is the sixth major release of Mac OS X, “the best upgrade we’ve ever released” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. Their Leopard website is updated to reveale more than 300 new features of Leopard.

Amongst the new features, there are some coolest features that Mac users would love to have:
“We’ve put out major releases on the average of one a year, and it’s given us the ability to polish and polish and improve and improve.” (Steve Jobs)

For me, I am sold by the entire new look of Desktop and Finder
Leopard screen looks much more deeper with the translucency, reflection, shadow and curving 3D Dock. The Desktop also looks tidy and neat with Stack. Overall, Apple had advanced another huge step in visual enhancement and making OS X more gorgeous and user-friendly than ever before

Finder now also have Cover Flow, just like what you’ve enjoyed with iTunes, iPhone, and new iPod introduced early this month.

Apple also bundles many new wallpapers in Leopard to suit their new look n’ feel. If you cannot wait to try Leopard yourself, you can check out the Guide tour for Leopard posted on Apple website.

Minimum system requirements:
Leopard can be pre-ordered online with free shipping, pricing at 129$ (or 238 S$), the Education discount is slightly less at 116$ (or 218 S$). You can find a better deal with Amazon though.
Clock is ticking, 5 more days to go before we all wow

CNN Fortune blog reports:
…in terms of sales and profitability, the consensus among analysts is that the fiscal fourth quarter was a terrific quarter for Apple, buoyed by back-to-school specials, switchers fleeing Vista, and a flood of hot new products. The line on Apple heard most often on the Street — in a cliche borrowed from the automotive industry — is that Steve Jobs’ profit-generating machine is firing on all cylinders these days and will handily beat Apple’s guidance numbers (never particularly hard to do, given how conservative those numbers tend to be)…
Apple will announce its quarterly earnings today afternoon after the market closes. Proving the fact that OS X Leopard shipping by this weekend, no doubt it will be the happiness period for the Cupertino-based company
