The beat does go on!

Apple’s “The beat goes on” special event just ended hours ago, and Steve Jobs took the stage and bought us some new cool stuff Today we get to talk about music and we’re going to refresh or replace EVERY single product in iPod lineup to get ready for this holiday season

Here’s the list of what Apple offers you:

  • New iTunes, support Ringtone for iPhone.
  • Red iPod Shuffle: same design, same price.

  • New iPod Nano: super thin, 2″ screen, video playback, stunning CoverFlow, and fatty tiny. Price: 149$ (4Gb model) and 199$ (8Gb model).

  • New iPod Classic: far smaller than previous generation, full metal body, longer battery life. Price: 249$ (80Gb model) and 349$ (160Gb model).

  • New iPod Touch: extremely thin (8mm), multi-touch interface, stunning Cover Flow, 3.5″ widescreen display, built-in Wifi, Safari and YouTube support. Price: 299$ (8Gb model) and 399$ (16Gb model).

  • New iTunes Wifi Music Store: the name speaks for itself, download to try then buy your favorite songs wirelessly.

That’s about it. Rumors are true I’m not totally satisfied this time. It’s great to see Apple finally upgrade their most phenomenal product; however, they should have done (slightly) better than that. The iPod touch is much more like a phone-less iPhone with same storage and same design (except the iPod touch is thinner than iPhone). I’m wondering how many people would go for an iPod Touch providing that they just need to pay an extra premium to get it as a true phone. Note that price of iPhone 8Gb model will drop from 599$ to 399$, starting today effective immediately! That’s the HUGE sexy price drop indeed. Sorry for anyone who bought iPhone 8Gb model in last 2 months, 200$ seems to be lost

Look at the bright side, I myself might go for an iPod Touch since I prefer changing phone model verytime; sticking with 1 phone and use it daily for music doesn’t sound good to me Or maybe it’s just me who think that way. Anyway, iPod Touch will only be available worldwide by end of September. We shall see

starbucks-logo.jpgOopps, there’s one more thing. Congratulation on your great partnership with Starbucks, Apple. What a combination between Coffee and iPod

I would love to tell you how Starbucks amazingly fit into my life, just smoothly like its Ice-blended Green Tea It does taste good!

So almost all Apple iPod (except Shuffle) now does video with high resolution Almost all Apple iPod are flash-based (except iPod Classic). Prices are attractive enough for an incoming holiday season, especially the iPhone.

Sadly, no Mac OS X – based iPod. And Apple’s stock is down, investors are unimpressed

Apple rebates 100$ to customers who bought iPhone early last months. Steve Jobs wrote an open letter to all iPhone customers

… even though we are making the right decision to lower the price of iPhone, and even though the technology road is bumpy, we need to do a better job taking care of our early iPhone customers as we aggressively go after new ones with a lower price. Our early customers trusted us, and we must live up to that trust with our actions in moments like these …

That’s the right thing to do! Cheers Apple I could feel the happiness amongst 90% of iPhone users. Nice touch, Steve Jobs; last time dropping DRM, now offering cash back to customers; you’ve made another professional and genius move
