I’m not going to copy and paste the Keynote from WWDC 2007 here, instead I’ll sum up what things in WWDC 2007 have fascinated me an hour ago. Just in case you are not familiar with the term, WWDC stands for Worldwide Developers Conference, the Apple’s most important annual event for hardware and software developers, including in-house developers, computational scientists, IT managers, and system administrators. This year, WWDC takes place June 11-15. And the most anticipated moment during WWDC is the Keynote by Apple CEO Steve Jobs, it’s always been
End-users like me are expecting more details information of 2 things during WWDC Keynote: Mac OS X Leopard, and iPhone
Here we go, one by one …
A – Mac OS X Leopard

Leopard features more than 300 new innovations since Tiger
and Jobs shared with us 10 of them. Below are those 10 at a glance, you can read more at Leopard Features. The new OS X will ship in this October.
1. Desktop
Desktop in Leopard is redesigned, Wooo…, pretty sexy transparent menu bar

Leopard introduces new feature for Desktop called Stacks that allows you to clean your desktop, organize things in very simple and neat way. When you want to see the files in a Stack, all you have to do is click and Stacks spring open from the Dock in an elegant arc for a few items, or in an at-a-glance grid for more.

2. Finder
Imagine if browsing the files on your Mac was as easy as browsing music in iTunes. That’s the idea behind the new Finder in Leopard. Now you can access everything on your system from an iTunes-style sidebar and flip through your files using Cover Flow. Sweettttt

3. QuickLook
Using Quick Look in Leopard, you can view the contents of a file without even opening it. Flip through multiple-page documents. Watch full-screen video. See entire Keynote presentations. With a single click.

4. 64-Bit OS, top to bottom
As Jobs said: One version of Leopard will run 32-bit and 64-bit apps side-by-side. We do NOT have two versions of Leopard. It simply means that you have a stronger and more advanced framework to perfom your works. Very cool ![]()

5. Core Animation
Talking about animation and design in Mac – Oh, it’s a long story covering by a short sentence: “It’s dead gorgeous!”. And today, Leopard brings us to the next level in computer animation. No, it’s not a feature film, it’s your desktop, a real deal
Core Animation is an API that makes it simple for Mac developers to add visually stunning graphics and animations to applications. Without any esoteric graphics and math techniques, you can create fluid, stutter-free effects and experiences as groundbreaking as Spaces and Time Machine. It’s just getting better and sexier d(^-^)b

6. BootCamp
BootCamp is built-in in Leopard to do just one ‘simple’ task: Run Windows on your Mac. Did I make it clear enough
You can install Windows onto your Mac, natively, flawlessly, no emulation, just install and run. MAGIC
Be a happy switcher, now and then ![]()

7. Spaces
Spaces is like multiple desktops allowing you to group your windows and banish clutter completely. You can re-arrange your room by creating different Space for different stuff and switch between them.

8. Dashboard
The name speaks for itself. You can put thousands of handy Widgets to your Dashboard and launch them in a single click. There’s are more than 3000 widgets for you to download and use, anything you want on Earth: Google, Wikipedia, Email, Sudoku, Chess, Clock, Calculator, Notes, Movies showtime, Photos, … Where there’s a will, there’s a widget
Here’s my current Dashboard

9. iChat
Is it Yahoo Messenger? Nope, it’s a higher level of Instant Messenger. It’s about funs and creativity. Filled with new features, iChat turns any video chat into an event. Video backdrops, Photo Booth effects, photo slideshows, Keynote presentations, even movies on your Mac – you can share it all using iChat ![]()

iChat is also equipped Tabbed chats, Multiple logins, SMS forwarding, Custom buddy list order, Space-efficient views, and a whole lot more.

10. Time Machine
Time Machine will do one top-most important task for you: BACKUP. Then you would say “But if I forget to turn it on?!”; don’t think too much, Time Machine is set once and it runs automatically in the background. Set it and forget it

So what makes Time Machine stand out of the crowd? Let’s see. It allows you to view how your computer looked in the past. Even better, it helps you to restore individual files, complete folders, or your entire computer
putting everything back the way it was and where it should be. So you don’t have to worry about unintentional deletion you made yesterday, Time Machine brings you back to the moment right before it happended. POWERFUL !!! I know that \(^o^)/

That’s it
Well, that’s it, 10 out of 300 innovations introduced into the new OS X. Leopard’s absolutely kick ass
Goodluck, Vista ![]()
So how about the price and shipping time. Steve Jobs said it best:
We’ve got a Basic version that will cost $129, we’ve got a Premium version which will cost $129. We’ve got a Business version! $129. Ultimate version! We’re throwing everything into it, it’s $129.
And at that moment, can’t even hear Steve, too much applause. We think everyone’s going to buy the ultimate version.

It’s just like that, simple and elegant Apple-style solution
Just one ring to rule them all, and I love you, Steve Jobs. Leopard will arrive in this October, the beta version is out now for Mac developers.
0. One more thing …
Save the best for the last, and here come the killing moment. “There is one other thing we wanted to tell you about that we think you might like. Safari… it’s been a wonderful success, there are now over 18m Safari users. It’s climbed from 0 to 5% across the entire internet. If you look at the world of browsers, IE is about 78%, Ffx 15%, Safari 5%, other 2% – we would love for Safari’s market share to grow substantially. But how are we gonna do that? Safari for Windows!” (Steve Jobs)
Safari 3 (beta) – the best Internet browser ever – is out today, running on both Mac and Windows (XP & Vista).

I’ve been using Safari for years, it’s only new to Windows users. Try it and taste the new blazing fast and secured browser to enrich you internet experience ![]()
B – iPhone
iPhone, iPhone, iPhone … Enough is enough
Steve Jobs dropped a bomb last Jan when he first introduced Apple iPhone at MWSF 2007. And today, he brought back that topic with more details:
The iPhone ships on June 29th, that is just 18 days from today
Done
Thank you
End of June, 18 days, any question?

Recap: iPhone combines three amazing products: a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching.

There’s nowhere else to learn more about it better than here. There’s some cool TV Ads about iPhone for you to try

All good things come to an end. The Keynote is over by now
Thanks Steve Jobs and Apple. Now I’m on the queue waiting for Mac OS X Leopard rolling out, and an iPhone somehow legally and surprisingly arriving in Singapore.
Just one final note: Apple website also got re-designed entirely with new sexy dark theme, check it out. Superb creative menu navigation ![]()

Steve is so good in making ppl buying an iMac, iBook… phew, it must be a super strong MacBook to run this OS
Yup, Steve Jobs has a public speaking talent, one of the successful factors for Apple indeed.
Meanwhile, in accordance with Apple WWDC 2007, Forbes put up an interesting article: Microsoft versus Google: Apple Wins
So far, most of Mac users posted thumb down for WWDC this year, they’ve been expecting something bigger and more hidden features of Leopard than those shared by Steve yesterday. Investors didn’t seem impressed either: Apple’s stock dropped 3.5%, by the end of the day
Nice blog, i have added it to my favourites, greetings
