testTube

Just like Google with Google Labs, YouTube now launches their TestTube for which they call the room for engineers and developers test out recipes and concoctions that aren’t quite fully baked.

The 1st feature is Stream – a YouTube room to watch and interact with other users while sharing videos. That sounds interesting, I will test it out tonight .

Adobe finally rolls out the new version for their famous product line: Adobe Reader 8.0. This update is Universal Binary, and that’s great news for any Mac guy who using Intel Mac computer.

The funny thing is Adobe releases both PPC and Intel Acrobat Reader 8.0, it means 2 seperate version for 1 software; which I guess it’s quite redundant They should be capable of making one software that can run on both PPC/Intel machine like other software.
Anyway, the new Reader 8.0 runs really fast in my MBP, the new icon is red – look pretty nice in my opinion.

However, Preview for Mac still remains as one of the fastest PDF reader built-in in Mac OS

How did I re-master my site (P1)

My site previously was developed using iWeb but I found it’s a pain in the a$$ when trying to integrate new features into it since iWeb code is pure HTML-based. So I decided to change my taste, try new things and see how it works out.

There are several choices out there available as free open-sourced if you need a flexible blogging system. I just name a few: WordPress, Joomla!, Movable Type, Blogger, Yahoo 360.

For me, I personally hate Yahoo 360 most but it doesn’t matter here (even I have my own 360 Page – never got updated ); and I finally arrived at WordPress, that’s all it takes to re-master my own weblog.

Installation
wordpressThe famous 5-min installation of WordPress surprised me, 5 minutes is more than enough providing that your own web hosting already gave you mySQL pre-installed which I think almost all of them did. My Singhost does it . Just blindly follow the instruction, and your own weblog will be up and running without a hitch. What will you have? Nothing! Yeap, I mean it, you have nothing. It’s just a very simple weblog, zero content, basic look-n-feel. The rest will be your jobs.
