1. Agora (2009)
Fans of ancient Roman history will absolutely love this piece of art ^^ Agora retold the story of notable female philosopher and atheist Hypatia of Alexandria, Egypt 391 A.D during the rising tide of Christianity. You will witness that imperfect world, the destruction of the Library of Alexandria, the religious fighting, the power struggling, and of course, the pursuit of happiness and love ^^

The movie caught my attention with the starring of Rachel Weisz
She’s (again) beautiful and captivating, demonstrated a brilliant performance that undoubtedly is her best recently. Credits should go to Oscar Isaac too as he was torn between the political pressure and his beloved wife. From start to end, Agora is simply a wonder: the insightful costumes, the historical scenes (Alexandria Library, Alexandria Lighthouse, the agora, the street), the science lessons, the intelligent dialogues, its epic symphony …

Agora should be available worldwide now, audience can plan to enjoy that 2-hour treat. Highly recommended!
2. Shutter Island (2010)
Directed by Martin Scorsese, Shutter Island is the story of two U.S. marshals, Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo), who are summoned to a remote and barren island off the coast of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the island’s fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane. It sounds simple, but only when they arrived at the island, they found there’re many many things else …

If you’ve seen those psychological thrillers like Silence Of The Lambs, Fight Club, The Sixth Sense, Identity before, you will love Shutter Island. The story is however complex with headache plots plus bloody and strong violence; but guaranteed excitement once you reached its end, so just watch it carefully ![]()
3. Green Zone (2010)
There’s 1 short line to summarize the Paul Greengrass’s Green Zone, “When Bourne meets politics”
During the U.S.-led occupation of Baghdad in 2003, Roy Miller (Damon) and his team of Army inspectors were dispatched to find weapons of mass destruction believed to be stockpiled in the Iraqi desert. Rocketing from one booby-trapped and treacherous site to the next, the men search for deadly chemical agents but stumble instead upon an elaborate cover-up that inverts the purpose of their mission. Spun by operatives with intersecting agendas, Miller must hunt through covert and faulty intelligence hidden on foreign soil for answers that will either clear a rogue regime or escalate a war in an unstable region. And at this blistering time and in this combustible place, he will find the most elusive weapon of all is the Truth.

One can argue that it’s too much on the US-Iraq War, and I do agree. But it will never be enough with Matt Damon
it’s him, and always him, showing excellent performance in controversial thriller action films. This time, there’s something more inside Miller: the depth of emotions, especially when it comes to political twist and justice!
4. Brooklyn’s Finest (2010)
Rated 7.4/10 on IMDB, Brooklyn’s Finest is another crime film on the forever-hot-topic ‘good cop-bad cop’. In the course of one chaotic week, the lives of three conflicted NewYork City police officers are dramatically transformed by their involvement in a massive drug operation inside the notoriously rough Brownsville section of Brooklyn.

Thanks to the great cast (Ethan Hawke, Don Cheadle, Richard Gere, Wesley Snipes), Brooklyn’s Finest stands out as a worth-watching movie, despite its violence throughout, strong sexuality, nudity, prostitute, drug content and pervasive language (as rated)
Also don’t expect to see something you haven’t heard of, there’s nothing brilliant about its story line

I’m watching Brooklyn’s Finest right this moment. Thanks for the recommendation. It’s very raw, indeed
Em mới copy đc Cẩm Y Vệ bản HD xem đã quá bác ơi, dù ko phải phim mới
Shutter Island is too long and its increasingly surreal tone provides an ending that’s a bit of a cheat. But, since it is a Scorsese picture, there’s a lot to intrigue on the way.
