I was like damn, what will be the great action-packed thriller to watch in the next few months after 24 TV series Season 6 ended last May; and then Shooter (2007) arrives, just perfectly on time ![]()
Based on Stephen Hunter’s novel “Point of Impact“, Shooter centers on an marksman (Mark Wahlberg), who is coaxed back into action after learning of a plot to kill the president. Ultimately double-crossed and framed for the attempt, he goes on the run to track the real killer and find out who exactly set him up, and why.

Shooter portraits Mark Wahlberg as Bob Lee Swagger (aka Bob the Nailer) – the fictional character created by Stephen Hunter in a trilogy of books that relate his life during and after the Vietnam War. The film was beautifully shoted, the storyline is engaging and entertaining, Wahlberg’s performance is excellent, all actions are awesome, and last but not least, the background music is surprisingly amazing

If you still remember the great moments you have with Enemy at the Gates (2001) as I’m sure you do, then you must watch Shooter. This movie will put you into the shoes of a sniper for real. I’m always impressed by Snipers with their aura of mystique and sexiness associated with the motto of “One Shot, One Kill“; and this time, I’m totally sold, again

A better news: Gone are the day when we’re thirsty for great action-packed films, because Die Hard 4 (starring Bruce Willis), The Bourne Ultimatum (starring Matt Damon), and War (starring Jet Li & Jason Statham) are coming
We’ll have a lot of funs!

For now, just sit back, relax, and enjoy 2 hours with Mark Wahlberg in Shooter to see how he, the man with two bullets in him and the subject of a nationwide manhunt, could possibly takes his revenge and brings down the most powerful people in the country ![]()
Yesterday was about Honor. Today is about Justice.
Some nice plots to remember
- You wrote a real touching suicide note, too.
- I don’t think you understand. These boys killed my dogs!
- There’s gonna be more shooting, and more people are gonna die. Now, I didn’t start it, but be sure as hell. I mean to see it through.
- You boys come a long way. What you looking for? – Wisdom.
- Once you’ve been a wolf, it’s hard to be staked down like a goat.
- You don’t get it. There is no head to cut off. It’s a conglomerate. If one of them betrays the principles of the accrual of money and power, the others betray him.
- It’s human weakness, you can’t kill that with a gun.
- There’s always a confused soul that thinks that one man can make a difference. And you have to kill him to convince him otherwise.
- And what side are you on? – There are no sides. There’s no Sunnis and Shiites. There’s no Democrats and Republicans. There’s only haves and have-nots.
- But this is the world we live in. And justice does not always prevail. It’s not the Wild West, where you can clean up the streets with a gun. Even though sometimes that’s exactly what’s needed.
