Transformers (2007)

If you ask which movie is the most anticipated one for this June, the only answer is ‘Transformers’ Being darn famous since in 1984, when I was 1 year old ; the Transformers brand rocks the world with its compelling saga of the Autobots versus the Decepticons. The innovative “Robots in Disguise” resulted in a tremendously successful toy line from Hasbro and Takara, comic book series, television program and an animated feature film.

This year, more than 20 years later, its legendary characters including the two leaders of the opposing sides: Optimus Prime and Megatron are brought to screen at a newest level. Directed by Micheal Bay with Steven Spielberg acting as executive producer, and released by DreamWorks Pictures, ‘Transformers’ (2007) has an aesthetic that heavily stressed advanced kinematics and realistic engineering (Wikipedia), and the transformation sound effects are amazing.

I still remember how badly I wanted a robot toy like this many years ago. And now look at this, they built ‘Transformers’ robots from Chevrolet Camaro Concept 2008 and Saleen Mustang police car; holy crap, I also want one

‘Transformers’ is out by late of June in Singapore. Can’t wait to see it. Meanwhile, check out its breathtaking trailer which is featuring the newest Linkin Park’s single What I’ve done:

What you need to do now is to choose one side, either Protect or Destroy, simple isn’t it but be careful, We’re facing war against a technological civilization far superior to our own! Our enemy can take any shape! They could be anywhere! (said Keller)

Captivity (2007)

A fashion model and a chauffeur are kidnapped and held hostage in a small room by a serial killer. While the madman methodically terrorizes them, the victims draw strength from each other and fall in love.

‘Captivity’ is rated R for strong violence, torture, pervasive terror, grizzly images, language and sexual material. Elisha Cuthbert maybe is the only reason to see it I’m a fan of her since she appeared in Old School (2003), then The Girl Next Door (2004), following by The Quiet (2005), and 24 TV series (as Kim Bauer).

So we crossed one more Ocean, pretty well-done I should say

Entertaining, good dialogues, no guns, no explosions Everything wrapped up by the last 15 minutes. All casts seem to be good, except sometimes they just talk nonsense stuff and I still love Al Pacino.

    If we rated Ocean’s 11: 7/10 (6 + 1 point for the first-time-surprise element), Ocean’s 12: 5.5/10; then Ocean’s 13 could be 6.5/10.
