Like him or hate him, it’s just about time everyone knows about Eminem and his taste of music. Despite the little-known fact that there’s only 1 book he read as a child, the dictionary, Eminem has a technical brilliance which powered him become the greatest rapper of time.

One could say his life starts and ends with music. Five years back, after Encore (2004), Eminem rested. As time goes by, this month he hits the mic again with Relapse (2009). Whether or not Eminem’s back to the peak of his talents with Relapse, there’s one thing remains unchanged: Slim Shady is a special guy with real talent

I must say many things have changed, my feeling for Eminem is also changed after half a decade. Hip-hop is like fashion, and styles come and go, but I and the public will still respond to his new album. And just before jumping into any conclusion, let’s take time to listen to Relapse, keeping in mind Eminem’s music is not that ‘smooth’ and would definitely take time to digest

The album is a golden combination of modern rock and classic rock and mature lyrics. Not only does the music sound good, it also has purpose: mankind as a whole is losing its humanity and needs to reclaim it. That musical messages of Peace and Love, not War are passed so smoothly; tone of the guitars are outstanding; and Klaus Meine sounds fantastic as ever

Since 1965, days after days better Rawk on Scorpions

Maroon 5 is going to stay on top again this summer with their second album “It won’t be soon before long” This album will be released this May featuring 12 whole new songs, which will have a different sound than “Songs about Janes” and being more electric and drawing inspiration from some old pop artists such as Michael Jackson and Prince.

8200 phút (khoảng 5 ngày) đang đếm ngược cho sự xuất hiện của album mới nhất của Linkin’ Park – “Minutes to Midnight” (2007). Sau nhiều lần trễ hẹn, LP đã trở lại; vẫn là 1 Mike Shinoda nhiệt tình và phong cách, vẫn là những thành viên ngày nào; nhưng không có “QWERTY”, không còn đậm chất Nu-Metal, không còn nét cuồng dại đến điên người trong giọng hát và giai điệu; “Minutes to Midnight” sâu lắng, có phần “nhẹ nhàng” hơn so với những gì LP đã thể hiện 4 năm trước trong Meteora, càng “hiền lành” hơn so với Hybrid Theory cách đây 7 năm

Nhưng điều đó không có nghĩa là “Minutes to Midnight” là sự thất bại của LP Nhìn nó như 1 sự thay đổi có lẽ hợp lý hơn. Phải đeo tai nghe và tập trung nghe để thấy phối khí của LP vẫn tuyệt vời như ngày nào, âm thanh dày và đầy sức sống, đặc biệt với bài Shadow Of The Day hay What I’ve Done. Khác với cái mạnh mẽ đến chát chúa của phong cách Nu-Metal thể hiện qua Numb, Crawling, Breaking the Habit, hay Somewhere I belong; LP thiên về chất Alternative hơn trong những sáng tác lần này, trộn lẫn nhịp nhàng giữa classical rock, hip-hop, với electronic beats, 1 hơi hướng gì đó nằm giữa U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, hay ColdPlay (rõ nét nhất là bài Valentine’s Day); lời nhạc cũng trữ tình và có nội dung sâu sắc hơn.
